Portugal: Europe's golf destination of choice for 50 years
The courses, the sunshine, the value. There's a reason everyone keeps coming back.
Portugal has been the UK's most popular golf destination for half a century. There are reasons it hasn't been displaced: consistent sunshine, a 2.5-hour flight from most UK airports, championship courses from some of the world's greatest architects, and green fees that make playing in the UK look expensive.
The Algarve alone has 40+ courses in a region smaller than Hertfordshire. From the resort courses of Vilamoura to the elite private clubs of Quinta do Lago, the range is extraordinary. Add the Silver Coast north of Lisbon, the Douro Valley, and Porto's growing golf scene, and Portugal could occupy a golfer for a lifetime.
We've been arranging Portugal golf holidays since the Algarve had fewer than a dozen courses. We know every property worth knowing, every course worth playing, and every course that looks better in the brochure than it plays.
Portugal's Algarve has more championship courses per square mile than almost anywhere in Europe. We've played most of them. Ask us which ones are worth your time.
